Motorcycle trials is a sport that requires highly developed rider skills in the areas of balance, clutch, throttle, and brake control. The object of the game is for the rider to pass through a series of obstacles placed within specific boundaries, which are called sections, without having to put his feet down to help him. Each time he puts a foot down he is penalized 1 point up to a maximum of 5 points per section. At the conclusion of the competition, the rider with the fewest points wins.
Neil and Eric Storz have been riding trials for more than 10 years. They are Expert level competition riders who started in the sport at ages 6 & 8. Their dedication and endless hours of practice have earned 4 Youth National Championships as well as several local championships. Eric has just begun to compete in World Championship Trials, scoring championship points in his first event.
The boys were started in the sport by their father, Steve Storz, who has worked in the motorcycle industry for nearly 40 years. His business, Storz Performance, supplies motorcyclists with racing quality accessories for Harley, Buell, and Sportbike applications. STORZ SELLS "XR 1200" TRADEMARK RIGHTS TO H-D

Storz Performance, Inc. announced that Harley-Davidson, Inc. has reached agreement with Storz Performance, Inc. of Ventura, CA to acquire Storz’ trademark rights for the mark “XR 1200” (U.S. Trademark application No.77/048680). Specific terms of the agreement are confidential. Storz Performance introduced its XR 1200 dirt track style conversion kits for Sportster motorcycles in January of 2005.
NOTE: The trademark sale to H-D was for the name "XR 1200" only.
Storz Performance will continue to offer its flat track style conversions for H-D Sportster models from 1986-2009 and will continue to develop new products for that line of bikes.
We received this unsolicited endorsement from long distance H-D rider Bob Drasner of Rockport Texas. Bob rode his FXR in every possible road condition while participating in the 6000 mile Ultimate Coast to Coast Ride from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Key West, Florida. Bob's goal was to raise awareness for the National Bone Marrow Program www.Marrow.org.
"Yes, they (Storz /Ceriani forks) are beautiful, but they are far more than beautiful. Like I said, If you are zipping through the sweepers and suddenly you find yourself on some washboard ... you MUST have a suspension that keeps the rubber on the road (or lack thereof). With the Storz/Ceriani 55mm forks it was like the bike was on railroad track.
Confidence is the best word to describe the sensation. How the front end would react (to bad road conditions) was simply a non-issue. All I had to focus on was my driving, and the animals up there !"

Long time Florida rider Mike Dean called us and said he had a Sportster project in mind and asked us to provide some parts and technical assistance. Mike wanted to go with 18" wire wheels and a chain drive conversion kit for a classic look, but he wanted to retain the stock rear fender which meant he could not fit the 180mm width normally used with our flat track style conversion. Instead we furnished 18x3.50 polished Sun rims front and rear, using a Metzeler 140/70-18 rear and 130/70-18 front tire. He added a Storz/BUB exhaust system and a Storz Ceriani steering damper kit.
The result, pictured here, is an exceptionally clean '08 883 with a truly classic look. Well done Mike !
